I already owned pcAnywhere 12.0, but needed a copy of 12.5 due to a recent computer purchase. The new PC came with the 64-bit version of Windows Vista and pcAnywhere 12.0 does not work with the 64-bit OS. I was kind of dissappointed to see on Symantec's page that the "upgrade" price for 12.5 was $199, and the best price I could find online was nearly $100 including shipping. I stumbled across this "Media PK" version here on Amazon, and was not 100% what it was, but decided to take a chance because of the low price (it was about $25 plus shipping). Sure enough, this is indeed the full blown CD-ROM version of pcAnwhere 12.5 Host & Remote. It came in a nice factory-sealed package with the CD and documentation. No serial number is required for installation. 12.5 works fine with the 64-bit version of Windows Vista, and it connects fine with my version 12.0 computers. I am very pleased with this and grateful to have found this version on Amazon at such a great price! If you need pcAnywhere 12.5 for a 64-bit PC, or just want to have the latest version (works with 32-bit Windows also) then this is a great deal! Highly recommended!

I found pcanywhere 12.5 at a local Fry's Electronics for $179.00. I too was a little gun shy about this "media pk", but reading the other review I decided to give it a shot. I got it from an Amazon.com dealer for $19.99, free shipping. Yep, this is the whole complete REMOTE-HOST ver. 12.5. It came in a nice factory sealed shrink wrap, an original Symantec pcanywhere 12.5 CD, installed nicely on my Win XP machines (does not require a "CD Key"). This by far the greatest deal on this product, even better than ebay. The ad says "Media Pk, No Operating System" but the install disc actually has setups for Linux, Mac, and Windows.Media Pk Pcanywhere Host and Remote 12.5 Device

I recently paid $200 for pcAnywhere host+remote version 12.5. Then I saw this thing that appears to good to be true but with good reviews. I purchased it out of curiosity, received it, installed it, and its the real deal. Host and remote on a real symantec cd in a real symantec folder for only $27. On the front of the folder it states Enterprise Solutions and Symantec pcAnywhere 12.5. There's even a "Getting Started Guide" inside the folder. The symantec cd is enclosed in a sealed (the seal says symantec) cover titled "Enterprise software enclosed". It looks real legit. I just ordered 2 more copies to complete the upgrades for my four windows 7 64bit amd quad servers, I support remotely with pcAnywhere. pcAnywhere 12.5 works fine with windows 7 64 bit.

This IS the full PC Anywhere product, on cd for installation on one machine.
Comes in a folder, with small explanation booklet but no detailed printed manual.
You can install both host and remote, only host or only remote. Your choice!
(Host receives the call, Remote calls in from external location)
If you know what the product is, and just need the install disk for another machine, this is the way to go! Without a doubt.
The last unit I spent $200 (12.1 with printed manual for someone else).
Lovely to see this is priced at under $30!
Been using PC Anywhere for 9 years in an office environment to work from home.
And also use it to connect to family machines remotely to provide assistance.
Just keeps getting better options!

hi:
the first review [by Mike Lovelace] suggests that it will with Windows 7, but that's not what symantec says about their latest version, but not clear if that's because it won't or just officially won't. If anyone has tried would appreciate it if they let me know.
